With the NFL Draft in the rearview mirror, the Houston Texans news now shifts to players on the roster bubble, as competition will be strong when training camp arrives.

It is no secret that every year the Houston Texans news is which players will be returning and which players are on the roster bubble due to changes made since the previous season came to a close.

The Texans have made plenty changes to their roster as DeAndre Hopkins, Carlos Hyde and Johnathan Joseph are just three veterans who won’t be on the 2020 Texans roster, but additions have included Brandin Cooks, David Johnson and Michael Thomas, either through trade and free agency.

Houston also made additions to the roster with five draft picks from April’s draft, including second round pick Ross Blacklock at defensive tackle who is replacing D.J. Reader, who is another veteran not on the defensive roster after four seasons with the franchise.

As we get closer and closer to hopefully the training camps starting on time in late July, the Texans still have players that will be battling for a roster spot due to varying changes in the lineup, whether it be via free agent additions, draft choice, undrafted rookie signings or trades made.

One way to put things for the Texans players who are about to be listed is this … they are going to have to battle very tough to stay on the team because right now it seems that they are on the roster bubble following many of the decisions made by Bill O’Brien this offseason.
