Ndamukong Suh

One of the most talented defenders across the league, the Houston Texans could use the toughness and durability Ndamukong Suh brings to a defense. Suh, 33, is the oldest player on this list, but he has shown no sign of slowing down after teaming up with Vita Vea in shutting down the opposing offense’s running game in Tampa Bay.

The Buccaneers’ defense ranked number one in the league in stopping the run, and Suh proved that no matter what team signs him, he can produce at a high level. Suh isn’t elite in getting to the passer, but he offers some ability in bringing pressure as a defensive tackle. Suh finished last season with 41 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and two defensive touchdowns for the Buccaneers.

Suh is the biggest splash name on this list but likely the hardest one to get due to the high number he will be seeking in free agency. Nearing the end of his prime, Suh will be looking for one last good contract after signing a one year contract with the Buccaneers worth up to $9 million in 2019.

Texans could use a defender of his caliber, but the only caveat would be that they need to be comfortable with the idea that his signing could affect the compensatory pick formula for next year as he is entering free agency instead of being waived.
