Three-Player Mock Draft

Round 2 (Pick 57): Cameron Dantzler, CB, Mississippi State — If the Texans want to add to their defense, drafting a cornerback in the second round wouldn’t be such a terrible idea. At the NFL Combine the 6-2 Dantzler measured with 9-inch hands, and he was graded as a starter within his first two seasons by NFL.com on his draft profile page. Dantzler ran a 4.64 40-yard dash time at the combine, and his vertical jump was 34.5.

Round 4 (101): Alex Highsmith, DE, Charlotte — The 6-3, 248-pound defensive end measured with 9-1/8 handstand has an NFL.com draft grade of 5.97, which projects him at backup. At this time of his career, if he can bring depth to the Texans’ roster in the fourth round, that would be a nice addition. It would take some work, but this could be a nice sleeper choice for a solid role player on the defense.

Round 4 (121): Zack Moss, RB, Utah —If the Texans can add a running back in the fourth rugs with the ability of Moss, that would be another nice addition. Graded by NFL.com at 6.45, which is their way of saying he could become a starter, Moss would fit right in for depth purposes, even if the Texans sign a player in free agency. At the combine, Moss had a 40-yard dash time of 4.65 with a 20-yard shuffle at 4.37.

Moss in being compared to Marion Barber by Lance Zierlein of NFL.com. If that is the case and Moss can be selected in the fourth round, what a change of pace back he would be for the tough yards, as if you remember, Barber’s nickname was “The Barbarian.”
