3. Defense of the Texans will stifle Denver’s offense

With the Houston Texans defense doing enough to take down the New England Patriots last Sunday night, they can’t afford a letdown by any means, and for their Week 14 game, the defense should be able to show up again.

Denver’s offense is averaging 16.5 points per game in 2019, and in three of their past four games they have scored at least 23 points, with two of those games being wins, against the Cleveland Browns in Week 9 and then last Sunday in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Houston’s defense for the season is allowing 22.6 points per game, but upon closer look, in one of the games they played this season the defense allowed 41 points against the Baltimore Ravens. Last week they only allowed the New England Patriots to score 22 points in Week 13, so the defense is very capable of achieving this feat against the Broncos.

Also remember the Broncos offense is being led by Drew Lock who will be making just his second career start. In his first start he held lead the Broncos to a win over the Chargers where he was 18-of-28 for 134 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

The Texans defense is coming off facing three really strong quarterbacks including Lamar Jackson, Jacoby Brisett and Tom Brady the past three games, so this is a vast difference in the level of quarterback they will be facing, so Houston will have the advantage in Week 14.
