The Houston Texans will be hosting the Denver Broncos in a Week 14 game where the home team can’t afford to overlook their opponent.

Each week the Houston Texans are one game closer to reaching the playoffs for a second straight year, and following their win last Sunday night against the New England Patriots, the Texans have great momentum on their side in their pursuit to win a second straight AFC South championship.

Next in the path back to the playoffs for Deshaun Watson and Co. are the Denver Broncos in a Week 14 home game at NRG Stadium. Last season the Texans defeated the Broncos, 19-17 in Denver, but all-time the Broncos lead the series, 4-3.

This year the meeting is a little different than games past in this AFC series. The Broncos aren’t having the best of seasons with three different players making starts at quarterback, plus Watson is playing some of his greatest football for the Texans in his third NFL season.

In 2019, Watson has 23 touchdown passes and seven interceptions after 12 games played with Houston. The Texans have an overall record of 8-4 and are in first-place in the AFC South.

The Broncos are 4-8 after 12 games this season, third place in the AFC West, but they are coming off a 23-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Looking back at last season’s game against the Broncos in 2018, Watson was 17-of-24 for 213 yards with two touchdown passes and no interceptions, though he was sacked four times. That game Watson also ran for 38 yards on six rushes.

In his most recent NFL game this past Sunday night, Watson passed for 234 yards and three touchdowns, plus caught a touchdown pass against the Patriots.

It is safe to say the Texans are the better team entering this game, but are also a team that can’t afford to overlook their opponent. Every game left on the schedule means so much from here on out with only a one-game led in the division over the Tennessee Titans.
