Zach Brown

Veteran free-agent inside linebacker Zach Brown is another player that could fit in Houston Texans defense as a rotational player. Brown has played with the Tennesee Titans, Buffalo Bills, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, and Arizona Cardinals since entering the league as a second-round draft selection in 2012.

Brown has had a rough 2019 season being released by Eagles and Cardinals after having a successful year with the Redskins in 2018. He had 96 tackles, ten tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and one pass defended in Washington before he was released in the offseason.

The Eagles signed Brown to a one year contract but decided to cut him after Philadelphia started 3-3. Brown’s struggles this season shouldn’t be treated lightly, but they could also be attributed to the fact that the Eagles and Cardinals are both teams struggling to find their identity as a team.

Both of his former teams are a combined 8-12 for the season and do not need a veteran player that could play a minor role with a contender. Brown isn’t the Pro Bowl-caliber player he was in 2016, but he could be an excellent third option at inside linebacker behind Benardrick McKinney and Zach Cunningham.
