Houston Texans’ offense will get a boost with Will Fuller’s return

The Houston Texans are expecting to count on their speedy wide receiver, Will Fuller, for their Week 12 game against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Houston Texans offense could finally be back to full health with the team expecting to have Will Fuller back at wide receiver, according to Ed Werner of ESPN. The offense has taken a dip in Fuller’s absence, only scoring 20 points a game and 218 passing yards.
The Texans were averaging 27 points when Fuller was on the field with the offense, and Deshaun Watson threw for an average of 283 yards per game. Fuller has 34 receptions, 450 receiving yards, and three touchdown receptions through the first seven games of the season.
The offense is better overall with Fuller as the opposing receiver to DeAndre Hopkins. The Texans didn’t have a lot of production from their wide receivers outside of Hopkins and Kenny Stills, while Fuller was sidelined for three games with a hamstring injury.
DeAndre Carter replaced Keke Coutee on offense for Weeks 8 and 9, but both were underwhelming third options in Fuller’s absence from the team. Having Fuller back as a starter in the offense moves Stills back as an excellent third option for Watson in the passing game.
The Texans offense will benefit from having Hopkins, Fuller, and Stills facing opposing secondaries as all three receivers can create mismatches against opposing defenses. No matter where Fuller lines up, defenses will have to account for him since he is such a good receiver only to be covered by one defender.
There aren’t many defensive backs in the league that can stay step for step with the elite speed that Fuller has.
