The Houston Texans are working for a second straight AFC South championship and a trip to the AFC Playoffs, and the next three weeks will be a gauntlet.

As the Houston Texans prepare to return to the field after their Week 10 bye, they are in a good spot in the AFC South as they watched the Indianapolis Colts lose against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, while the Tennessee Titans won over the Kansas City Chiefs by a 35-32 score. Like the Texans, the Jacksonville Jaguars also had a bye in Week 10.

The Texans won their most recent game before the bye as they defeated the Jaguars, 26-3 in London, England. With Houston in first place in the AFC South — having a record of 6-3 — now is the time for this franchise to take the next step, as they’ve had some time to heal up a bit, and hopefully members of the team will be able to return from some recent injuries.

The remaining schedule for the Texans includes the following games: at Baltimore (Week 11), vs. Indianapolis (Week 12), vs. New England (Week 13), vs. Denver (Week 14), at Tennessee (Week 15), at Tampa Bay (Week 16) and vs. Tennessee (Week 17).

All of the games are very important as each and every win from here on out will be of the utmost importance because of how close the standings are not only in the AFC South, but also for the two AFC Wildcard spots as well.

The next three weeks for the Texans aren’t going to be easy by any means, with a gauntlet of games that will see them face the AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens, the always tough Indianapolis Colts and the reigning Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.

If the Texans want to be known as one of the best teams in the AFC, they must show they are in the same league as the Ravens, Colts and Patriots, and that opportunity is right in front of them. Next is a look at the next three games and what awaits them.
