On Tuesday, Houston Texans safety Jahleel Addae spoke on The Jim Rome Show about quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Houston Texans strong safety Jahleel Addae has gained more playing time this season due to injuries in the secondary, and on Tuesday during the Houston bye week — and coming off a 26-3 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars — he made an appearance on The Jim Rome Show, where he spoke about starting quarterback Deshaun Watson.

In the interview, Addae talked about what it is like having Watson as the starting quarterback and how amazing it is to watch him play each week. Addae knows what it is like watching great quarterbacks because he played on the same Los Angeles Chargers (and San Diego) teams as Philip Rivers for six seasons before joining the Texans — who are 6-3 overall — this season.

In the interview, Addae was asked by Rome what does he think when he watches Watson play, and this was the response:

"“It’s crazy because I’ve been around Hall of Fame quarterbacks such as Phil, and when it comes to this I’m spoiled. It is just a testament to the kind of player he is and the work he puts in and obviously just the ability he has. Every time he does something it’s stuff you’ve never seen, and you are just on the sideline, like ‘Wow, I can’t believe I witnessed that.’ I’m glad he’s on my team.”"

Later in the interview, Addae was asked by Rome how valuable knowing the Texans have a quarterback like Watson to lead the offense:

"“It is a great feeling knowing you have a quarterback that is always going to give you a chance no matter what the situation is in the game — up, down, tied — we know when we get the ball to D4, he’s going to give us an opportunity to come out with the W.”"

This season Addae has 25 tackles and one interception, which came this past week against the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London, England. In his nearly seven full seasons in the NFL, Addae had played in 89 regular-season games with 23 passes defensed, three interceptions and 397 combined tackles (308 solo).

It is excellent to see how Addae has fit in well with the Texans, and as a veteran, he knows how exciting and special of a player Watson is and will become in the NFL.

Each week the Texans get better because of Watson, and maybe the best is yet to come from the third-year player as Watson continues to lead the Texans to greater things.
