1. Improved Running from Leonard Fournette

During the earlier matchup, Leonard Fournette was held in check by the Houston Texans run defense, as he had 47 yards on 15 carries, which gave him a 3.13 yards per carry. That marks the fewest yards and yards per carry he’s had all season, but Fournette has really picked up the productivity since that game. Fournette has had 678 yards in the six games since, and is averaging 4.83 yards per carry during that span.

Fournette will also surely want to have a bounce back game against a division rival who kept him relatively quiet previously. He currently is the NFL’s second leading rusher, with 791 rushing yards on the season. The Texans are allowing the fifth fewest rushing yards per game and have allowed the ninth fewest total rushing yards on the season, so this will be no easy matchup for Fournette.

Fournette has been the key to the Jaguars 4-2 record over the last six games, as he’s averaging 110 yards and 23 carries during each of their four wins.

His running will be the key to the Jaguars’ play-action offense, and will also allow them to control the time of possession and keep their defense off the field. This will be one of the better matchups to watch in this game.
