The Houston Texans need to add a defensive end after the season-ending injury to J.J. Watt. Here are three players the Texans can trade for before the trade deadline arrives Tuesday afternoon.

Losing a player with the talent and leadership abilities of J.J. Watt is a tough pill to swallow, and with this being the third time in four seasons Watt is out due to a season-ending injury — this time a torn pectoral — the Texans are in big need of adding a player to replace Watt on the depth chart.

If the Texans decline to add a player via free agency, making a trade is something they’ve been more than happy to do this year, and maybe the Texans can go to a team that has a pending free agent to add to their roster for the rest of the season.

Nobody is going to replace the energy, leadership and talent Watt brings to the field each and every week, as he’s a focal point of the opposing offense each and every game. That said, the Texans have to move on from Watt for the rest of the season and find his replacement as soon as possible.

With the NFL Trade Deadline being Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 4 p.m. ET, and the Texans playing in London, England this upcoming Sunday, they need to find a quick fix for the remainder of the season and find a player who can be a difference maker for the short term with this franchise.

Houston is only one win back in the AFC South standings, so they are still in the hunt for a playoff spot in a division where no team has a record below .500. Next are three defensive ends whom the Texans could trade for very soon to help the defense.
