The Houston Texans and the Oakland Raiders will meet in Week 8 and here are some predictions for the game.

Looking into the matchup between the Houston Texans against the Oakland Raiders this Sunday in Week 8, this will be the midway point of the season for the Texans with their record going into the game being 4-3, which is second place in the AFC South.

The Raiders are 3-3 after their first six games of the season, as they’ve had a bye week already, and they are also second place, but in the AFC West.

The Raiders are also 1-2 on the road, and with this week’s game being at NRG Stadium in Houston, that homefield advantage could be useful for the Texans as they are 2-1 at home thus far in 2019.

Next for this game is the quarterback matchup with Derek Carr leading the way for the Raiders and Deshaun Watson being the top quarterback for the Texans. Both the Texans and the Raiders are only as good as the play of their respective quarterbacks, so keeping pressure off of them is key.

When the Texans did that for a two-week span in Week 5 and Week 6, Watson played some great football. Last week the pressure was back at Watson from the opposing defense, and he made a couple mistakes that he normally wouldn’t have had.

Entering this Week 8 game, Carr has eight touchdown passes, four interceptions and has passed for 1,410 yards on 189 attempts (140 completions). Carr also has 15 completions of 20-plus yards and two completions of 40-plus yards and has been sacked eight times.

As for Watson, he has 13 touchdown passes, five interceptions and 1,952 yards passing on 235 attempts (163 completions). He also had 24 20-plus yard completions, six 40-yard completions and has been sacked 21 times, including three times last Sunday in the loss to the Colts.

Though Watson is the clear winner in the quarterback comparison, there is still much to look forward to and much that could happen in this game. Next are “3 Bold Predictions,” for the Texans and Raiders matchup.
