2. Deshaun Watson takes next step in NFL progression

All of us should stand up and give Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson a standing ovation because of the game he gave the entire NFL on Sunday in the 53-32 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Watson finished 28-of-33 for 426 yards, along with five touchdowns and no interceptions, and he had the highest QB rating one can have in a given game. Let’s not forget Watson also rushed the ball four times for 47 yards, and wasn’t sacked once on Sunday, which was the biggest surprise of all.

For his overall play, Watson gained those number by keeping plays alive, but not holding onto the ball for too long either. The fact his receivers were getting open, and the offensive line played their best game of the season, did help.

Watson is showing how great of a leader he is, and even though he has a wide receiver like DeAndre Hopkins on his side, Watson didn’t force the ball to him in double coverage. Rather, he took over the game with Will Fuller, and both did everything they needed to do to lead Houston to the win.

Passing for over 400 yards is no small feat, and Watson deserves all of the praise going his way following this game. What is more exciting for the Texans is this could be just the tip of the iceberg for the success they can have for the rest of the season if the offense can stay consistent.
