3. Johnathan Joseph  will have an interception

Through the first three games of the 2019 season, veteran cornerback Johnathan Joseph has yet to record an interception, but that will all change on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Joseph this season has collected 24 tackles for the Texans, but just as important, he has four passes defensed.

It will be interesting to see if Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen will challenge the veteran cornerback after coming off his first start of the season as Cam Newton continues to heal from an injury. Against the Arizona Cardinals, Allen was 19-of-26 for 261 yards and four touchdowns, and better yet, no interceptions. He was also sacked twice and completed 73 percent of his passes.

Joseph isn’t having the best season of his career in terms of yards allowed in coverage, and as stated in the following tweet by Scott Barrett of Pro Football Focus:

That is a very impressive way to make a first start of the season, and though the Texans don’t have the best secondary in the league, Joseph has the veteran experience. If he is challenged too many times on Sunday, he can and will make at least one interception.

Only once in his career has Joseph had a season without an interception. Even in the past two seasons, Joseph has grabbed two interceptions in each year, and in game four of the ’19 season Joseph will add to his career interception numbers.
