2. Deshaun Watson, QB, Texans

Here is the thing with Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson … he needs better pocket awareness, and that also means he needs to get rid of the football faster. If Watson continues to play at the pace he’s been playing with in the pocket this season, he’s going to be sacked even more than last year.

Don’t get me wrong, Watson is a Top 10 quarterback, but to take the next step in his progression with the Texans he needs to help out his offensive line some and get rid of the ball faster because it is costing the offense yards, and it is tough to tell if the o-line is improving at all as Watson has been sacked 10 times this season.

Now, the positive about Watson is he’s shown he’s a true leader, and he can bring his team from a deficit to the lead late in the fourth quarter, as he’s shown twice this season. Watson is one of the very best in the NFL at what he does, but imagine how much better he’d be if he would release the football faster, allowing him to avoid unnecessary hits that he’s been taking too much this NFL season.
