Question No. 3

Which player on the Jaguars surprised you the most in Week 1 … good or bad … from their play in the season opener and why?

Of course, Gardner Minshew is first on the list. The poise the quarterback showed is better than what he displayed in the preseason. The second player I was pleased with was wide receiver DJ Chark. He gives Jacksonville a tall, deep threat it needs in the red zone, and he is lightning fast as well.

• Question 4

What are your thoughts about the Jaguars losing starting QB Nick Foles for an extended period of time and having rookie Gardner Minshew under center? Can he take the Jaguars to the next level?

That’s the biggest question here in Jacksonville. The mania behind the “mustache,” and his personality and bravado, are bigger than the player right now. But I do think he can come in and play respectably. It’s very tough to win as a rookie in the NFL.
