Spread the ball around

The Houston Texans have continued to build an offense around Deshaun Watson and he will have the opportunity to put points on the board as long as he is willing to distribute the ball. Watson has a stacked group of receivers in DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, Kenny Stills, and Keke Coutee. He will have to work on including all of them as the season progresses, and the Jaguars will be a good game to put the receivers to the test.

Watson completed 20 of the 30 passes he attempted for 268 yards and threw for three touchdowns to only one interception against the Saints. Hopkins led the team with eight receptions while running back Duke Johnson had four catches, Stills had three, Fuller had two, Jordan Akins, Carlos Hyde, and DeAndre Carter each had one catch against the Saints.

Tight end Darren Fells, Jordan Akins, and Jerell Adams are also talented and have the athleticism to be included in the offense moving forward. Watson has the weapons to put on a show on the offense and will have the opportunity to drop back to pick the defense apart with Yannick Ngakoue and A.J. Bouye being ruled out due to injury. However, Josh Allen and Calais Campbell will be disruptive against the Texans’ offensive linemen, so Watson will have to be quick on his reads to find the open receiver.
