The Houston Texans have signed veteran cornerback Phillip Gaines to the active roster.

After a close loss against the New Orleans Saints, the Houston Texans brought in veteran cornerback Phillip Gaines in for a workout. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported that the Texans have decided to sign him to the 53 man roster.

Gaines was selected in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs and spent the first four seasons with them before signing with the Buffalo Bills in free agency. His stint with the Bills was short-lived as he started in six of seven games before he was released in the 2018 season.
