Texans at Saints: TV schedule, radio, live stream, where to watch
The Houston Texans are ready for their Week 1 NFL regular season opener and here is how to watch and listen to the Monday Night Football game.
The time has finally arrived with it being game day as the Houston Texans are set to take the field for the 2019 NFL regular season, playing on Monday Night Football against the host, New Orleans Saints.
Houston and New Orleans both are coming off winning division championships a season ago, but for the visiting Houston team, they have a different look than they did last season. They’ve added players like left tackle Laremy Tunsil and wide receiver Kenny Stills, but also no longer have pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney, and safety Tyrann Mathieu as they had a season ago on their defense.

That said, the Texans are now the favorites by some to win the AFC South championship for the second consecutive season. That isn’t an easy task by any means, as they open the season against a strong Saints team who are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl as they have not only Drew Brees at quarterback, but Alvin Kamara at running back and Michael Thomas at wide receiver.
In 2018 the Texans had the 12th ranked defense in yards per game allowed at 343.1 ypg, and the Saints offense was ranked at eighth in the league at 379.2 yards per game, making for this Week 1 matchup where something is going to have to give.
The Saints and Texans also haven’t faced each other in a regular season game since Nov. 29, 2015 when the Texans defeated the Saints, 24-6. Houston last faced the Saints at the Superdome in 2011, with New Orleans winning, 40-33.
With the regular season opener for Houston being held on a national stage, here is how to watch and listen to the Texans at Saints for Week 1:
Date: Monday, Sept. 9
Start time: 6:10 p.m. CT
Location: New Orleans, LA
Stadium: Mercedes-Benz Superdome
TV Info: ESPN
Radio Broadcast: ESPN, SportsRadio 610
Live Stream: Watch ESPN
The Saints and Texans should be a good game, and it could come down to who wins the battle in the trenches between these two teams. For the Saints to win they must keep J.J. Watt off of Brees, and the other way around, the offensive line of the Texans must play better in this game than in any game they played in a season ago.
Also keep an eye on how the Texans secondary defends the Saints wide receivers, and how the game plan to stop Thomas from taking over the game, as that is a big factor in the final outcome.
