3. How many times will Damarea Crockett carry the football?

The player who should get a good look at carrying the football against the Detroit Lions is Damarea Crockett, who has been doing well in training camp, according to varying reports.

Crockett has a great opportunity in front of him to become the third running back on the depth chart for the Texans, playing behind Lamar Miller and the newly acquired Duke Johnson, whom the Texans traded a draft pick for last week.

With Miller not needing any carries in the preseason, and Johnson still recovering from a hamstring issue, that gives the likes of Crockett a big opportunity to impress the coaching staff in this preseason game.

Sean Pendergast of the Houston Press recently released his second article predicting the roster of the Texans, and he has Crockett making the roster for the Texans. Pendergast said this about the rookie running back:

"“Thus far, Crockett has been the more impressive of the two rookie running backs carrying the football.”"

Crockett is the player we all should want to see the most from in the second preseason game on offense. In the preseason opener against Green Bay, Crockett had six carries for 24 yards and one touchdown, with one of his rushes being 12 yards.

If Crockett can not only get the opportunities to gain valuable carries, but make the most of them behind a suspect offensive line, that could seal his fate in earning a roster spot at the end of the preseason.
