The Houston Texans are home for Week 2 of the preseason as they’ll be facing the Detroit Lions on Saturday. Here are 5 questions for the preseason game.
The Houston Texans are back on the field this Saturday night as they’ll be hosting the Detroit Lions at NRG Stadium in Week 2 of the NFL preseason, as last week the Texans played at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers.
Going into the second preseason game, the stakes start to get a little higher for all teams — not in terms of who wins and loses the game, but for the fact the bigger stars and the superstar starters will most likely either see game action for the first time or play a little more than they did a week ago.

The Texans probably won’t play DeAndre Hopkins, and if he does it won’t be for long, but maybe the Texans will play quarterback Deshaun Watson for a series if they feel he needs to be on the field. Either way, the team will be very cautious with both of their top offensive players because it is the regular season that matters the most.
As for the rest of the offense, the Texans need to see what they have. For instance, who is going to be at the top of the depth chart at tight end? How much can the offensive line improve from their performance last Thursday? Who is going to make their presence felt on the defensive side of the field?
Those are just some basic questions that can be asked. In closer attention to the details, there is a lot more that needs to be figured out for the Texans before the start of the 2019 NFL regular season. That is because the New Orleans Saints in Week 1 won’t be a pushover by any means, and the two teams will be featured nationally on the season debut of Monday Night Football.
In facing the Lions on Saturday night, the Texans need to continue to see who and what they have currently on their active roster. Maybe the Texans need to have a Plan B pertaining to Jadeveon Clowney, and who will fill in the role of Keke Coutee if he continues to battle injuries?
