Houston Texans former 2017 third-round draft selection D’Onta Foreman has been claimed by the Indianapolis Colts.

In a surprising move, the Indianapolis Colts claimed Houston Texans former running back, D’Onta Foreman. Selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Texans were high on Foreman’s potential at running back before he, unfortunately, tore his Achilles in his first year in the league.

Like many other players that have a history of suffering an Achilles injury, Foreman struggled to get back to the player he was prior to the injury. Foreman missed the majority of his second season in the league as he worked his way back into football shape. He finished with seven carries for a negative one yard and a touchdown reception in his only game of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Ironically, Foreman played in a reserve role against his future team in the NFL wild-card game. However, his lone carry for three yards against the Colts epitomized his struggle of getting back to the running back he was coming out of college.

Foreman finished his tenure with the Texans in a low note after enticing Texans coaching staff as he finished with 78 carries for 327 rushing yards and a couple of rushing touchdowns in his first ten games in the league.

Foreman will have the opportunity to get right back on the track and have a fresh start with the Colts. He will compete with Nyheim Hines, Marlon Mack, Jordan Wilkins, and Jonathan Williams for an opportunity to earn a spot on the Colts’ final roster.
