Multiple NFL teams are expressing interest in Houston Texans former defensive back Kayvon Webster.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, and Chicago Bears have all been keeping tabs on Houston Texans’ former defensive back, Kayvon Webster.
Texans general manager Brian Gaine signed Webster towards the latter part of the 2018 preseason to their 90 man roster. Webster was working his way back into football shape for the Texans after suffering an Achilles injury that ended his season with the Los Angeles Rams in 2017.
He made the 53 man roster despite not seeing significant action throughout the preseason and continued his rehabilitation from his Achilles injury through the early weeks of the regular season. Webster made his debut with the Texans in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys but he had to make an early exit after suffering a quadriceps injury early in the first half. He was placed on the injured reserve with the opportunity to be brought back later on in the season.
Webster was activated from the injured reserve and expected to play against the Philadelphia Eagles after going through practices and being cleared to resume football activities. However, he encountered another setback making his way back into the rotation of the secondary as he suffered a thigh injury early against the Eagles and it ultimately ended his short stint with the Texans.
Webster struggled with injuries in his one season with the Texans, but he had shown upside contributing as a reserve defensive back and special teams player with the Denver Broncos. His contributions allowed him to win Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos.
