1. Deshaun Watson a stater for third straight year

This could be the year where Deshaun Watson puts together everything he’s learned thus far in his NFL career after the first two seasons and makes year three the season where he really takes off and becomes even better than he’s already been.

Watson has had an up-and-down NFL career as he was off to a strong start his rookie season until tearing his ACL halfway through the season. He returned last year and played well most of the time, but you could see the growth he made as a quarterback in his first full season on the field as he helped lead the Texans to the playoffs and win a division championship.

The Texans quarterback was hit way too much, played under too much pressure from the defense and still found a way to complete 68.3 percent of his passes (345 completions) with 26 touchdowns and just nine interceptions. His longest pass went for 73 yards, a touchdown to Will Fuller, plus Watson was the second-leading rusher for the Texans last season.

In 2018, the QB rushed for 551 yards on 99 carries, leading the team with a 5.6 yards per carry average with a season long run of 34 yards and five rushing scores.

Watson has all of the skill to eventually become the top quarterback in the NFL. If the health of his wide receivers stays positive, plus the offensive line improves and even Watson himself adds to his overall game, the excitement will be off the charts for the team in 2019.

Houston should be thankful Watson survived last season with all the hits and pressure he overcame, but now is the time this franchise gets serious and does all they can to make the players around their starting quarterback the best they can be.
