Marcus Mariota, Titans (1 Point)

The issue with Marcus Mariota of the Tennessee Titans is he threw just 11 touchdown passes compared to eight interceptions in 14 games played (13 starts) in 2018. That is a season where he completed 68.9 percent of his passes.

Mariota has a losing record as a starter for the Titans at 27-28 overall in 55 starts, as the Titans were 7-6 with him as the starter last season, failing to make the playoffs. Mariota is entering his fifth season in the NFL after being a second overall pick back in 2015 by Tennessee. He has a career completion percentage of 63.2 and has never passed for 3,500 yards in a season.

Mariota has thrown double-digit interceptions twice in his career with 15 in 2017 and 10 as a rookie in 2015. Besides his 2016 season (year two) where he threw 26 touchdowns and just nine interceptions, Mariota has yet to get near that point again in the touchdown category due to missing games with various injuries.

The Titans quarterback still can be a very viable quarterback in the NFL, but right now, entering the 2019 season, the pressure has to be on him to lead the Titans to success. If he doesn’t, the team could eventually look elsewhere for their quarterback needs if they continue to miss the playoffs, and the first player always looked to when that happens is the quarterback.
