Wearing No. 28 will be sixth round pick, cornerback Xavier Crawford, and the seventh round pick, Cullen Gillaspia will be No. 44.

As for some well-known former Texans players who have worn the aforementioned numbers, they include:

No. 28 — Justin Forsett and Alfred Blue

No. 32Jonathan Wells, Fred Bennett

No. 44Ben Tate and Vonta Leach

No. 71Todd Wade

No. 74Wade Smith

No. 81Owen Daniels

No. 94Antonio Smith

One of the more interesting number pairings is Warring with the No. 81 as that was the number the best tight end in Texans history, Owen Daniels, who wore it from 2006-13. In his eight seasons with Houston, Daniels played in 100 regular season games, making 96 starts.

Daniels caught 385 of 602 targets with the Texans totaling 4,617 yards and 29 touchdowns. Daniels also averaged 12 yards per reception and his longest career reception went for 44 yards in 2009 against the Oakland Raiders on Oct. 4, 2009 in Houston.

Another number with a lot to live up to is No. 74, as that was the former number of offensive lineman Wade Smith. He played for the Texans from 2010-2013, playing and starting in all 16 games during each of those seasons.

Antonio Smith wore No. 94 for the Texans from 2009-13 and again in 2016, where in those years he played in 92 games, making 78 starts in the regular season. Smith in his time with the Texans totaled 27.5 sacks, while adding 161 total tackles.
