2. Charles Omenihu, Defensive End

When the Houston Texans selected Charles Omenihu in the fifth round, many were pleased with the selection, and with Omenihu joining a rotation on the defensive line for the team, he’s bound to make an impact this season.

Omenihu is coming off his best season at the collegiate level with the Longhorns, playing in 14 games where he totaled 45 tackles (33 solo) with 18 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks. Now how can the stats and play of Omenihu transform into the NFL?

The defensive end is a solid pass rusher, so adding him to the defensive line rotation will be great for him as he won’t have to be the top player in the depth chart, but he’ll have the opportunity to grow and become a solid defensive lineman in the NFL and be a player who the Texans will see make plays early on in his career.

Omenihu is 6-6 and 275 pounds, so he’s built to be a strong and powerful defensive pass rusher, and he has good speed with a 4.92 40-yard dash, but putting everything together will be what will eventually help make him be one of the most impactful rookies for the Texans this season.
