Round 7: Ty Johnson, RB, Maryland

In four seasons at Maryland, Ty Johnson totaled 348 carries with 2,635 yards and 17 total touchdowns. Also during his career, he averaged 7.6 yards per carry, and he even caught 29 passes in four seasons. In those receptions, Johnson totaled 318 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

Johnson also brings a lot of value as a kickoff returner where in four seasons he had 48 returns for 1,194 yards with two touchdowns, averaging 24.9 yards per return.

In 2018, Johnson had 14 kickoff returns with 381 yards and one touchdown. Last season, he averaged 27.2 yards per kickoff return. Another productive season as a kickoff returner was in 2017, where on 27 returns he totaled 657 yards and one touchdown.

The Texans could use another running back, and one that is versatile like Johnson would be good for this franchise as he could be a third back going in behind Lamar Miller and D’Onta Foreman. With Alfred Blue gone via free agency, adding Johnson could work out well for the Texans, and they could do so with their final pick.
