Round 2 (54th overall): Rock Ya-Sin, CB, Temple

The Houston Texans have a very nice opportunity to select a cornerback in the second round with one of their two picks, and at 54th overall the Texans would be smart to take a look at Rock Ya-Sin of Temple, who in his one season of FBS college football played well for the Owls.

At Temple in 2018, the senior Ya-Sin played in 12 games where he totaled 47 tackles (36 solo) with two tackles for a loss and two interceptions, plus he added 12 passes defensed to his overall Division I totals.

In the 2019 Pro Football Focus Draft Guide, Ya-Sin was graded at 87.5 overall in 2018, and the 5-11, 192-pound cornerback played in a total of 841 snaps. At the NFL Combine, he ran a 40-yard dash time of 4.51 and had a vertical jump of 39.5.

Also on his Pro Football Focus page, Ya-Sin also was 68th in the nation with 6.43 cover snaps per target and 64th overall in cover snaps per reception at 12.06.

The Texans need to keep adding to their cornerback depth chart as they added Bradley Roby this offseason through free agency. The addition of a player like Ya-Sin would really help add to the Texans working to defend their AFC South title and slowing down the Indianapolis Colts and their very strong offense.
