Jaryd Jones-Smith, LT, San Antonio Commanders

Week 2 stats: 0 allowed sacks, 175 team rushing yards

A 2018 preseason member of the Houston Texans, Jaryd Jones-Smith has been very impressive for the San Antonio Commanders for the past two weeks.

Against the Fleet last weekend, the 6-7, 320-pound tackle was impressive as he hadn’t allowed a single pressure on 21 pass-protecting reps, per Pro Football Focus. He then proved his status as the best tackle in the AAF this week against the Apollos.

More from Houston Texans News

Not only was the Commanders ground game rolling behind Jones-Smith, but quarterbacks Logan Woodside and Marquise Williams enjoy luxury luxury of a clean pocket for most of the game. Edge rushers rarely found their way around Jones-Smith as he didn’t allow one quarterback hit or sack on the day.

Jones-Smith has the necessary height and length to find himself on an NFL roster in 2019. Considering his familiarity with the Texans — and only being 23-year old — seeing him back with the team is a very real possibility if he can continue to work on his footwork and conditioning throughout the ten-week season.
