Jamar Summers, CB, Birmingham Iron

Week 1 stats: 3 pass deflections, 2 tackles, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble

Jamar Summers is quickly turning into one of the best cornerback prospects in the AAF. Not only is Summers young at 24-years old, but the former Pittsburgh Steeler also offers good height (6-foot) to boot. In his first game with the Iron, he was all over the field as he was able to protect the boundary and played a huge part in Christian Hackenberg’s disappointing AAF debut.

Not only did Summers provide two turnovers, but he was also willing to tackle against the run. Summers often found himself near the ball in every running play.

While defending the pass, Summers only allowed one reception on just three targets and boasted a staggering 2.8 passer rating when the ball is thrown his way, per Pro Football Focus.

Honorable mentions of players to watch after Week 1 incuded: Trent Richardson, Keith Reaser, Jaryd Jones-Smith, John Wolford and Mekale McKay.
