1. How much addition will be needed to the offensive line?

The top issue for the Houston Texans that must be addressed more than anything else is the addition of better and more productive offensive linemen, and that can be done by making the tackle spot a top priority during the 2019 NFL Draft.

Houston allowed 62 sacks this past season to quarterback Deshaun Watson, and that can’t happen if they want to be a success in 2019. The AFC South could be one of the tougher divisions in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts making the divisional round, plus improved play from the Tennessee Titans this past season, and not to forget the Jacksonville Jaguars with them looking to bounce back, too.

The play of the offensive line is the heartbeat of any NFL team, and this past season with the Texans they didn’t get the job done. Finding tackles to compete with the current roster of players will be key to improving this unit.

Current tackles on the Texans include: Roderick Johnson, Martinas Rankin, Kendall Lamm, Julie’n Davenport, Seantrel Henderson and David Steinmetz is signed to a reserve/futures contract.

The Texans are sure to work on improving not only at the tackle spot, but possibly guard and center too, as the entire offensive line needs to be looked at.

To make the offensive line better from day one, they need to find a possible franchise left tackle to protect the blind side of Watson, or the Texans’ quarterback could be in for another painful season.
