3. Will the team be able to re-sign Jadeveon Clowney?

One of the bigger and most important offseason decisions is whether or not re-sign pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney as he is a free agent for the first time in his career since the Texans drafted him No. 1 overall.

Clowney totaled 38 solo tackles, nine sacks (tied for 24th in the NFL in ’18) and he had one forced fumble. Overall, Clowney totaled 47 tackles and had three fumble recoveries, plus one pass defensed. If the Texans are smart, they will no less than use the franchise tag on Clowney this season, but that could cause issues as well with the price that Clowney will want to be paid vs. possibly the amount the Texans want to pay.

Houston needs Clowney on the roster this upcoming season, and they can’t let a player with his overall talent end up on another team – or even worse, end up on a another team within the division. Though there have been many ups and downs with Clowney throughout his tenure with the Texans since being drafted to the franchise, it would be in the best interest of Houston to have him with them, rather than against them, once the 2019 NFL season rolls around in September.
