Round 6: Travis Fulgham, WR, Old Dominion

The Houston Texans have a the best wide receiver in the NFL on their roster is DeAndre Hopkins, and have a solid wide receiver Will Fuller and Keke Coutee coming off his rookie season as well on the roster. The question is why a wide receiver here, and the answer comes down to one word … injuries.

The Texans battled injures to young wide receivers Fuller and Coutee all season, with Fuller suffering an ACL injury and Coutee battling hamstring issues all season long, hampering his rookie season. The Texans need to add more depth to offset those types of injuries if they were to continue, and that player could be wide receiver Travis Fulgham of Old Dominion.

When the Senior Bowl takes plays in late January, we’ll see more from Fulgham, but if the Texans want to get a player under-the-radar so to speak, late in the 2019 NFL Draft, this could be the one.

Justin Melo of DraftWire.com wrote a profile on Fulgham, quoting the following from Fulgham in the article:

"“I’m a vertical, deep-threat type of receiver. I feel like I have the speed to make plays down the field. Overall, I’m just a receiver that can play all three downs.”"

This could become an interesting round for the Texans on Day 3, and if Fulgham is available — and the Texans don’t bring back Demaryius Thomas — he could become another player to help in the progression of Deshaun Watson and help make the Texans offense better than it was this past season.
