The Houston Texans saw their season came to a disappointing close on Saturday in the Wild Card Playoff. Now it is time to learn from the game and start looking to next season.

It was a disappointing Wild Card Round game on Saturday left the Houston Texans stunned and looking for answers as they were eliminated from the playoffs. The he AFC South champion Texans lost to the Indianapolis Colts, finishing the year at 11-5 in the regular season and 0-1 in the playoffs.

The Texans fell to 1-3 in their last four playoff games, and this season as a No. 3 seed in the AFC they failed to show up when the game started. It was easy to see change will have to come if this franchise wants to compete with the likes of the Colts twice a season.

The 21-7 loss on Saturday is making fans question if Bill O’Brien should continue to be the head coach or at least should play calling duties should be looked at being given a fresh start. There are questions about other coaching aspects of the Texans as well. There also needs to be changes made at cornerback, plus additions to running backs and of course the offensive line.

This offseason will be exciting, interesting and very intriguing for the next few months. All of us can’t wait to see what eventually happens with the Texans from here on out, which leaves the question of “Now What?

Here is a look at Texans headlines for Sunday:

Riley McAtee of The Ringer wrote an “Exit Interview” for the Houston Texans and in that article wrote about free agency with the team:

"“The Texans defense will need to be retooled this offseason.”"

Free agency with the Texans is going to be huge this offseason for the Texans. As in the article by McAtee, it mentions one name that jumps off the page as a player who could potentially leave and that is Jadeveon Clowney.

Fans of the Texans most likely want a player of Clowney’s ability on their defense next season, but a lot is going to go down with Clowney before we officially know what the Texans will do this offseason.

Deepi Sidhu of HoustonTexans.com gave a positive takeaway from the playoff loss and that was the play of Keke Coutee on Saturday afternoon, writing the following:

"“Coutee also made a key catch across the middle of the field on fourth-and-three to extend the scoring drive.”"

The return of Coutee was huge and shows the potential that he, DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller have with a still learning and improving Deshaun Watson at quarterback. Coutee is a big-game player and the rookie wide receiver, after finally recovering from his hamstring injury, finished the playoff game with 11 receptions for 110 yards and one touchdown.

That tweet sums up how all Texans fan felt on Saturday and it was a heartbreaking loss for a team that has a roller coaster type of season. There was the awful 0-3 start, followed with nine-straight wins, and then winning the AFC South championship.

Though the season ended poorly with the playoff loss, the team should know what needs fixed, but now it will be a matter of time to see if they can or will make those improvements this offseason.
