2. Keep Deshaun Watson from being sacked too much

Being that Deshaun Watson has been sacked a combined 12 times in their first two games against the Colts, including being sacked on seven occasions the first time the Texans and Colts faced each other, that can’t keep happening if the Texans expect their offense to run smoothly.

Though Watson has been sacked 62 times and hit even more this season, this is the playoffs now, and with this being the debut for Watson in the playoffs, you would think the Texans would want to avoid having Watson sacked that many times once again.

Watson has had to play with a lot of pressure on him this season – some of his own doing, and mostly because of the play from the offensive line, which the Texans really need to work on this offseason. What does help Watson when facing a team like the Colts, who have 38 sacks this season, including nine by Denico Autry and seven from Darius Leonard, is he knows the pressure is coming and he has the practice and ability to have a chance of escaping that pressure.

We all know Watson is going to be sacked in the AFC Wild Card game on Saturday, but if there is a way to give some extra help to the offensive line, or if Watson has to release the football a tad earlier than usual to avoid the hit, that needs to happen. Facing the Colts defense isn’t an easy task, so it will be intriguing for the offense of the Texans to see what their game plan is with Watson on Saturday in Round 3 of facing the Colts.
