The Houston Texans will be traveling to Lincoln Financial Field to face the Philadelphia Eagles without several of their starters.
The Houston Texans PR announced on their official Twitter account that rookie wide receiver Keke Coutee, running back Lamar Miller, and rotational defensive lineman Brandon Dunn will not make the trip with the rest of their teammates to play the Philadelphia Eagles. The team had announced yesterday that defensive back Mike Tyson would also stay in Houston since he hadn’t passed the concussion protocol.
The Texans are expecting to have running back D’Onta Foreman take some snaps behind Alfred Blue. Foreman will be making his debut in the 2018 season after being inactive for the first few weeks after being removed from the PUP list and promoted to the active roster. Rookie wide receiver Vyncint Smith could also be on the game-day roster with Coutee being ruled out.
Smith would be used more in special teams role similar to former Texans wide receiver Sammie Coates. The Texans will also have a decision to make with Dunn being out with an ankle injury. Dunn has been one of the most consistent and reliable defenders against the run. He’s normally gone unnoticed but his ability to occupy double teams in the middle of the defense has allowed other players to make positive plays.
The Texans have a deep group of defensive lineman rotation, they will have Joel Heath and Carlos Watkins available for Week 16. They have a lot at stake this week as they are competing with the New England Patriots to keep the second seed in the AFC and clinch the AFC South division.
