Here is a look at how the Houston Texans can win the AFC South this weekend and the upcoming matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The AFC South championship scenario is very simple for the Houston Texans this Sunday in Week 16. If they Texans are able to gain a road win at Philadelphia, the Texans will get some new gear and be celebrating winning the AFC South championship.

If the Texans were to lose, and both the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts were to lose In Week 16, the Texans would still have a two-game lead over them and win the AFC South. If the Texans lose and their conference counterparts both win, well that makes for an exciting and nerve-wracking Week 17 for all three teams.

Again, the simplest way for the Texans to win the AFC South and stay in the No. 2 playoff spot in the conference is to win this upcoming Sunday when the Texans face the Philadelphia Eagles in a 1 p.m. ET game.

The Eagles won’t be a pushover either, because entering Week 16 they still have a chance to win the NFC East with some help, as they are 7-7 overall and the Dallas Cowboys lead the division at 8-6. Philadelphia has come on strong as of late, winning three of their past four games by defeating the New York Giants, Washington Redskins and the Los Angeles Rams. Their loss came to the Cowboys in that span.

Philly seems to be getting some of the same momentum they had last season, so the 10-win Texans better be at their best in this game or things could become more complicated than they need to become as the regular season draws near the end.

It is unsure who will be the quarterback of the Eagles in this game as Carson Wentz is battling injuries for the second consecutive season, but the defense of the Eagles seems to be back on track and they are playing the card of “everyone is against them.”

Until Sunday there will be a lot of talk about both the Texans and the Eagles as Houston isn’t playing their best for a complete game, and the Eagles are playing with momentum, which makes for an intriguing game to say the least.

Here are headlines for both the Texans and Eagles on Tuesday.

Drew Dougherty of HoustonTexans.com wrote about how running back D’Onta Foreman “could play” this weekend against the Eagles, quoting head coach Bill O’Brien about the running back:

"“D’Onta has had a good two weeks of practice,” O’Brien said Monday morning. “He’s looked good on the practice field.”"

If Foreman is able to play Sunday it would be a nice addition to a rushing game this has struggled the past couple weeks. The problem with Foreman is that the offensive line of the Texans isn’t the greatest, but any spark he could provide the offense would be welcome against the Eagles.

Sean Pendergast of the Houston Press gave his four winners and four losers from the Texans’ win over the Jets on Saturday. One of the winners was the duo of quarterback Deshaun Watson to wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

"“Watson had a perfect 158.3 passer rating targeting Hopkins, and Hopkins showed, once again, why he is the best football player on this team …”"

You can’t argue with the stats as watching these two become one of the best quarterback-to-wide receiver duos in the NFL is exciting to watch and these two will take the Texans a long way for years to come.

Martin Frank on the USA Today website wrote about if the Eagles have a quarterback controversy on their hands with Wentz and Nick Foles.

"“Foles is the better option now, and that was apparent after he threw for 271 yards in the Eagles’ 30-23 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night … Wentz is the better option when he’s healthy, but that won’t happen until the spring.”"

The Eagles have a bit of a decision on their hands, but my guess is if Wentz is able to play he will be on the field this weekend and any other weekend he’s able to play.
