Ka’imi Fairbairn

Writing about a kicker being one of the reasons why a team wins a game isn’t attractive a topic to address, to say the least, but the truth is Ka’imi Fairbairn was pivotal in the Houston Texans pulling out a victory on the road against the New York Jets. He was responsible for 17 of the Texans 29 points scored.

Fairbairn was 5-of-5 on his field goal attempts and 2-for-2 on his extra point attempts. His made field goals were all from the range of 32, 40, 41, 49, and 53 yards. Fairbairn has been a game changer for the Texans as his accuracy on field goal attempts has allowed him to help the Texans win close games. The Texans have relied upon him a lot when the offense stalls in the opponents’ territory and he has come through for them in big moments.

This game embodies how well he has played for the special teams this season, he was100 percent in the Jets game and he is 87.2 percent through 14 games. Fairbairn leads all kickers in the NFL with field goals attempted with 39 and with field goals made with 34. His 136 points converted from kicks also lead the league in total points.
