Round 3
Chris Lindstrom, Guard, Boston College

The Houston Texans should continue to add to their offensive line by taking an offensive guard (who could possibly play some tackle if needed) in the third round. Lindstrom will be one of the top offensive guards in the 2019 NFL Draft, but he could go anywhere from the second to third round, so the Texans might have to decide if he’ll fall to them in the late third round.

The Texans need better offensive line play overall, and with Lindstrom, he has one last collegiate game left with Boston College, that being the Cotton Bowl Wednesday, Dec. 26 (1:30 p.m.) against Boise State.

According to The Draft Network in a draft profile of Lindstrom, they wrote the following on him about his pass blocking abilities:

"“Lindstrom as a true pass protector on an island by himself. When he was in those situations, showed an excellent anchor against power …”"

A player like Lindstrom is someone whom the Texans could really use and should be wanting to add to their roster through the 2019 NFL Draft.

Currently, the guards on the Texans’ roster are Senio Kelemete (undrafted) at left guard, and at right guard listed is Zach Fulton (undrafted). With the Texans only having two guards listed on their depth chart, the team really needs to take a look in the draft and even in free agency to upgrade that position to, if nothing else, have better overall depth for the 2019 season.

Houston’s offensive line most likely won’t show great improvement for the rest of the regular season, but they’ll need to hang on for the team to keep having success. Then when next season arrives, a player like Lindstrom could be become a big difference maker on the roster.
