The rushing stats of the Houston Texans have been strong at times this season, and the trio of players who run with the football have set a franchise record.
Lamar Miller, Deshaun Watson and Alfred Blue have set a new record of sorts for the Houston Texans, as this season the trio of two running backs and quarterback have each rushed for at least 350 yards each, the first time that has occurred for the franchise.
This season Miller leads the Texans in rushing with 876 yards and three touchdowns on 176 carries. Blue has rushed the football 128 times for 446 yards and one touchdown in a reserve role at running back. Watson has rushed for 375 yards on 69 carries as quarterback with two rushing touchdowns.
Those are some excellent numbers individually as the trio has combined for 1,697 yards as the Texans enter their Week 14 game against the Colts. Here is the exciting part, the Texans have added D’Onta Foreman to the mix as his recovered from his Achilles injury suffered last season, being added to the active roster this week.
Eventually Foreman will make his mark on the offense, but it has been exciting to see the trio of the Texans earn the honor of being the first three players to rush for at least 350 yards each in franchise history during the regular season.
Miller has a chance to have his first 1,000-plus yard rushing season since 2016 when in his first season with the Texans rushed for 1,073 yards. His first 1,000-plus yard season was with the Miami Dolphins in 2014 when he had 1,099 yards rushing.
Houston must rely on their rushing game from here on out as there is just a month left in the regular season. The Texans also have nine-straight wins entering Week 14 against the Colts, and a 10th straight win would make life easier for the Texans in the final three weeks, and look to the rushing game to help in that process.
