1. Christian Covington

This past Monday night, the Houston Texans gained their best performance from Christian Covington all season long. Against the Tennessee Titans in Week 12, Covington exploded for four tackles and 2.5 sacks, making life tough on the Titans offense, and more so, making life great for the Texans defense.

This is the type of game the Texans needed from Covington this season because before his 2.5 sacks in the game, he had no sacks on the season. For the year, Covington has 10 tackles in seven games.

The season hasn’t been the greatest for Covington with some injury issues and such, but at least for one game, in primetime, Covington showcased his skills to the highest level and not only that, showed what he’s capable of when playing at the top of his game. Maybe there are more performances like this in the future, and if so, this is the best time of the year to do so.

Next for Covington is a game against the Cleveland Browns, and though they’ve been playing at a higher level as of late, it will be interesting to see how Covington plays following such a strong showing from the previous week.
