3. The health of J.J. Watt

Here is something exciting for the Houston Texans to be thankful for this season, and that is the health of J.J. Watt. The health of Watt this season has not only brought back great memories of the defensive end, it has also erased the past two seasons where Watt had to battle injuries that hampered his success on the field.

Being healthy thus far this season has turned around the fortunes of the Texans as they are 7-3 on the season, and not only that, the fortunes of Watt are much better, too. This season, Watt has 36 tackles, 10 sacks and four forced fumbles. Compare that to the two previous seasons were Watt played in eight games combined, totaling 33 tackles, 1.5 sacks and zero forced fumbles.

Seeing Watt have the success he’s had already this season has been exciting to watch, and more than that, if there is ever a player who deserves to have success after a couple tough seasons, it is Watt. The redemption Watt has gained already is enough for most players in the NFL, but with six regular-season games left and a division title on the line, we might not have seen the best of the defensive end just yet. That is something the Texans need to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
