3. Kareem Jackson
One of the cornerbacks of the Houston Texans, Kareem Jackson is having an excellent season and should be the player selected to shadow Washington Redskins wide receiver Josh Doctson, who is becoming a very solid wide receiver.
Though Redskins have players who have higher reception numbers, the Texans will be smart to use Jackson to cover Doctson closely for the game. The Redskins wide receiver has 23 receptions for 236 yards and two touchdowns in eight games played this season.
Those numbers might not be the greatest, but if Jackson is able to make the game even tougher for Doctson on Sunday it will be a game channger. Jackson — who has been graded as the top cornerback in the NFL though 10 weeks by Pro Football Focus — should be able to take the Redskins wide receiver out of his comfort zone and be able to force Redskins quarterback Alex Smith to look elsewhere for a play, which changes the entire game.
Jackson is fourth on the Texans in tackles with 51, but he’s also forced two fumbles and has two interceptions on the season. Jackson is playing some of the best football of his career and if he wants to continue that feat he must be able to stop Doctson as that will really hurt the Redskins on Sunday.
