2. Demaryius Thomas

Going into this Week 9 game against the Denver Broncos, the Houston Texans didn’t need Demaryius Thomas to be a No. 1 type of wide receiver, but they did need him to fill the void left by Will Fuller due to his ACL tear in Week 8.

In Thomas’ first game with the Texans after they traded for him from the Broncos, Thomas played well against his former team, helped take pressure off of DeAndre Hopkins and did what was needed from him to help the Texans gain the win.

Thomas, who played his first game with the Texans against his former team, finished with three receptions (on three targets) for 61 yards to be the second-leading receiver on the team in Sunday’s Week 9 game at Denver.

This type of production from Thomas is what was needed, and once he gains more time working with quarterback Deshaun Watson in the coming weeks and becomes more accustomed with the offense of the Texans, great things could be on the horizon for the veteran wide receiver and his second-year quarterback.

Thomas was an excellent addition to the wide receivers of the Texans, and at least on Sunday it paid off well as he had his numbers and Hopkins caught for over 100 yards and a touchdown. The weeks ahead should be exciting for this duo of Pro Bowl-caliber wide receivers.
