The Houston Texans earned their sixth straight win on Sunday by defeating the Denver Broncos with the help of various players at Mile High Stadium.

The two-point win by a 19-17 score left the Houston Texans against the Denver Broncos in Week 9 left the team in a good spot going into their bye week. They’ve not only won six straight games, which is the second-longest current streak in the league, but they showed once again they can win the close games.

Even if it was the Broncos missing the 51-yard game winning field goal, the defense of the Texans played well with both J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney having sacks, but the offense did their job as well. Newly acquired Demaryius Thomas proved to be solid in his debut with the team, and of course DeAndre Hopkins had his usual outstanding game too with over 100 yards receiving.

More from Houston Texans News

There was more left wanted from the rushing game as neither Lamar Miller or Alfred Blue had over 40 yards rushing, and neither one averaged 3.0 yards per carry.

Still, even with the lack of rushing from the two running backs on the roster, the Texans finished with 290 yards of offense as Deshaun Watson passed for 192 yards and the rushing game combined for 98 yards. As an offense, the Texans averaged just 4.8 yards per play, but again, the Texans battled tough and gained the win, and that is the most important part of Sunday.

The Texans proved they can win on the road once again as this was their fifth game away from NRG Stadium, and they’ve won three of their six games on the road this season. Next is the bye week for the Texans, and being three games above .500 with this win, they are in a good spot going into their break and that is due to these three standouts from Week 9.
