The Houston Texans are going into their bye week with six straight wins following Sunday’s win over the Denver Broncos.

Wins in the NFL don’t come easy, but the Houston Texans managed to hang on. A wide field goal attempt by the Denver Broncos gave the Texans a sixth-straight win as Houston moves into their bye week with a 6-3 record following a 19-17 win at Mile High Stadium.

It wasn’t pretty on the final drive by the defense of the Texans, but luckily the Broncos had some miscues that pushed their offense back, leaving kicker Brandon McManus left to kick a 51-yard field goal that went wide right to hand the Texans the two-point win.

What was fun to see on the field for the Texans for the first time was the wide receiver duo of DeAndre Hopkins and Demaryius Thomas, as this was the first game for Thomas with the Texans, and it just happened to be against the team he previously played his entire nine-year career for.

Thomas finished with three receptions for 61 yards, as he caught all three passes that went his direction. Hopkins finished with 10 receptions for 105 yards and one touchdown.

With less than a week to work together with Watson, this duo played a solid game, and just think how good this trio of Watson, Hopkins and Thomas can be when they have more time to become adjusted as a unit following the bye week.

Houston had another sack from J.J. Watt, plus one from Jadeveon Clowney, which gives Watt eight for the season, while Clowney now has 4.5 on the season.

Was this the best win of the season? No, but once again, the Texans proved they are somehow able to win close games as they’ve now seen four of their six wins come by seven or fewer points. Any way you look at it, this is a time to be excited for the Texans. They have earned the bye waiting for them next week, and now it is time to exhale and relax for a week.
