The Houston Texans have made their roster and starting lineup better with the addition of Demaryius Thomas via trade, but how did fans and those around the NFL react to the news?

In a trade made on Tuesday by the Houston Texans when they acquired Demaryius Thomas from the Denver Broncos for a fourth-round pick with an exchange of seventh-round picks, the Texans got what they needed for the rest of the 2018 season as they’ve replaced Will Fuller with a past Pro Bowl selection.

Now for the remainder of the season, if players stay healthy, the Texans should feel good about their Top 3 wide receivers Thomas being paired with DeAndre Hopkins and Keke Coutee. The important thing is this trade has helped the Texans in the short term of this current season. With hopes for the playoffs and a division championship in front of them, the Texans made a smart move.

Thomas also seems happy be in Houston, as the Texans PR Twitter account tweeted the following on Wednesday:

"“It’s exciting. I want to come in and do everything that I can to help this team win. I think it’s a great opportunity for me. Change can be good and I think it’s going to be good here. I’m excited to get to work and see what I can do to help this squad out.”"

The Texans seem to be excited, as is Thomas, but what are some of the other reactions from fans and those around the league with Thomas joining the AFC South first-place Texans? Also, don’t forget, the Texans enter Week 9 with a 5-3 overall record and have a five-game winning streak as they face the Broncos this Sunday in Denver.

Broncos head coach Vance Joseph spoke highly of Thomas following the trade. The Texans gained a high-quality football player, and from all accounts, they gained a high-quality person on and off the field as well.

This is an interesting question for those interested in fantasy football. I believe Coutee will benefit from having Thomas around, and he will get even less pressure on him as Hopkins and Thomas will get all the top defenders their way. For fantasy purposes, Coutee must take advantage of each and every target he gets.

This is going to be a special duo for the rest of the year, right? How many teams can say they have the talent the Texans have right now at wide receiver with Hopkins, Thomas and Coutee, as the rookie full of potential, with this trade?

Texans head coach Bill O’Brien gave his seal of approval for the trade to acquire Thomas. It is good to see both the Broncos and Texans are at peace with this decision, and in Houston’s case, the front office did an excellent job with this decision.

It is tough not to agree with this take. The Texans only need Thomas to be a No. 2 type of receiver, as they already have a superstar in Hopkins to lead the way at wide receiver.

Again, this is an agreeable take on the situation. Granted, having Will Fuller is a better overall situation, but with him out for the season, gaining Thomas from the Broncos is a good replacement to have.

Trading a fourth-round pick isn’t going to hurt the draft much (remember, the Texans have two second-round picks), and being two games over .500 entering Week 9, the Texans did the right thing, and it should pay off as the season progresses.
