The Houston Texans are filling the void left at wide receiver following the Will Fuller injury by trading for a Super Bowl champion wide receiver.

A trade has finally happened for the Houston Texans and they’ve not only improved their depth at wide receiver, but they’ve changed the entire game in the AFC for the remainder of the season. The Texans are reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL.com to have traded a 2019 fourth round and a seventh round pick to the Denver Broncos for Demaryius Thomas and a 2019 seventh round pick.

The trade by the Texans is a huge move for their offense and after losing standout Will Fuller following his ACL tear in Week 8 against the Miami Dolphins. The Texans have added not only a Super Bowl champion wide receiver, but a player who will force teams to choose split time in concentrating on Thomas or a Top 5 NFL wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Throw in Keke Coutee into this mix and Deshaun Watson might be the happiest quarterback in the NFL today.

Gaining a player like Thomas not only makes the Texans a contender to stay in first place in the AFC South for the rest of this season, but puts the rest of the AFC on notice that they are serious about making a run to the playoffs following an 0-3 start this season.
