1. DeSean Jackson
Let’s stay in Tampa Bay and take a look at wide receiver DeSean Jackson, as he is a player who actually wants traded and out of Tampa Bay. The problem with that is the Texans might have to give up a higher draft choice for the 2019 NFL Draft, but luckily they do have two second-round choices if the price would reach that level.
Jackson is a solid veteran wide receiver who still has speed and the ability to be a productive wide receiver for a team like the Texans, who need help right now with the ACL injury to Will Fuller.
Speaking of Fuller, in his NFL.com Draft Profile from back in 2016 there was a mention of Jackson in a comparison of the two players before Fuller was eventually selected by the Texans in the first round.
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com wrote the following from a former NFL Scout:
"“I hear the DeSean Jackson comparison and I can’t get there. DeSean was faster, tougher and more reliable than Fuller. I’m not saying Fuller can’t play, but I don’t think he’s DeSean.”"
Well, that was just a “little off,” as Fuller really proved he is a real-deal NFL wide receiver. If the Texans can add Jackson before the NFL Trade Deadline passes, it would be a good move for the franchise and keep their offensive momentum moving forward.
